To celebrate the 20th anniversary of smartkat®, we are bringing back the smartkat® 400 hulls in a very limited quantity — as a “Classic” version with selected upgrades to the material and construction details.

These hulls combine the characteristic smartkat® design with a noticeably improved construction for greater durability and everyday use.

The orange protection strip:

• protects the seam areas during everyday use, for example on the beach, when launching or at contact points

• acts as an additional protective layer, creating a “double-seam” effect

What is the difference between the “Standard” and “Classic” versions?

The “Standard” version is the proven design used for model years up to 2024. It includes the orange abrasion and seam protection strip to protect the hull seams.

The “Classic” version, introduced as the 2026 anniversary edition, is based on the smartkat® 400 and additionally features improved material and reinforced trampoline attachment points for greater durability and robustness.

Is the “Classic” version permanently available?

No. The smartkat® 400 hulls in the “Classic” version are available only in very limited quantities. Once sold out, this edition will not be available again for the time being.

Are the hulls compatible with my smartkat®?

Yes. The smartkat® 400 “Classic” hulls are compatible with all smartkat® models.

What is the purpose of the orange abrasion and seam protection strip?

The orange protection strip protects the seam areas against abrasion and stress, for example when launching the boat, using it on the beach or during handling. It also acts as an additional protective layer.
